My Story

I am taking on the Step Up September challenge for the Trussell Trust.

Did you know that food banks in the Trussell Trust network distributed close to 3 million emergency food parcels between 1 April 2022 to 31st March 2023? This is the most parcels that the network has ever distributed in a financial year and represents a 37% increase from the same period in 2021/22.

This is also the first time that food banks in the Trussell Trust network have provided over a million parcels for children, with record levels of need seen for both children and adults this year.

one fifth of households are now struggling with uncontrollable debt, many of these made sensible decisions at a time before covid lost them their jobs or put them on universal credit. Many made decsisions to start a familyor buy a house within their budget but didn't foresee doubling mortgage and loan rates ,nor the quarupling of energy bills or 10% inflation with no rise in their wages. With just a little help, they can reverse the spiral of ever increasing debt and get themselves back on their feet. With your help, the Trussell Trust can continue their work and get closer to a future where there is no longer a need for food banks.
