My Story

“Yes, that’s it!" said the Hatter with a sigh, "it’s always tea time.” – Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

David and I have signed up to host Tea for Trussell this year! Together we can have tea and make a difference!

Our event will be on Thursday 2nd June from 10am -4pm at the Borgue Community Hall, near Kirkcudbright, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland.

Do, please, come along if you are in the area and want a cup of tea or coffee together with delicious homemade cake or biscuits.  We'd love to meet you!

Why are we fundraising for the Trussell Trust?

No one should be faced with the indignity of needing emergency food. Yet food banks in the Trussell Trust's network gave out 936,000 emergency food parcels between 1 April and 30 September. More than 356,000 of them went to children.

Need for emergency food has been increasing year-on-year and the latest figures from the Foodbank Network highlight an alarming 128% rise compared to this time five years ago.

This is not right. Together, we can end the need for food banks in the UK. Together, we can create a more just society.
